Semi-private Spanish Lessons on Zoom

Semi-private lessons are designed for two or three people who already know each other and want to follow the Toani Program together.

This option works well for couples, friends, family members or roommates who prefer learning in a very small group and want more control over the class schedule.

You still get the shared practice of learning with other people, but the pace and schedule can be arranged around the students taking the class.

Before you begin, we meet for a free 30-minute interview to learn about everyone’s Spanish background, confirm that the group can study at the same level and discuss a possible schedule.

How semi-private lessons work

Classes are held live on Zoom with one teacher and two or three students. Everyone follows the same level and learning plan.

During class, you practice pronunciation, sentence structure, listening and conversation together. Because the group is small, each person has more time to speak, ask questions and receive direct help from the teacher.

Your teacher guides the group through the Toani Program and assigns specific lessons, audio exercises, quizzes and other activities inside the Toani Membership. We’ll tell you what to do each week as we go.

Class format: Two or three students with one teacher.

Session length: One hour.

Schedule: Arranged with the students and teacher.

Class pace: Adjusted to the small group.

Location: Live on Zoom.

Who should take a semi-private class together?

Semi-private lessons work best when the students already know each other and are comfortable practicing together.

The students should also have a similar Spanish level. One person does not need to know exactly the same vocabulary as the others, but everyone should be able to follow the same part of the program without one student feeling lost or held back.

During the interview, we’ll help confirm whether the group can begin together at the same level.

How long does each level take?

There is no single completion time for semi-private lessons.

A level may take around three months, less time or a little longer. It depends on how often the group meets, the students’ previous experience and how much practice everyone completes between classes.

The group moves forward together. If someone needs additional review, the teacher can adjust the pace before moving on to the next part of the course.

Your Toani Membership

Every student taking semi-private lessons needs an active Toani Membership.

The Membership gives each student access to the complete Levels 1–5 program and the online materials assigned between classes.

The class payment covers the live sessions with the teacher. The Membership gives access to lessons, pronunciation audios, quizzes, worksheets and additional practice.

They are two separate payments because they cover two different parts of the learning experience.

Students can stop taking lessons and keep their Membership active if they want to continue studying on their own.

Tuition and payments

Semi-private lessons: $400 MXN per hour, per student

Toani Membership: $550 MXN per month, per student

The payment method depends on how often the group plans to meet.

If the group schedules two sessions per week or more, the classes for the month are paid in advance.

If the group schedules one session per week, each student purchases a 10-hour package in advance. The remaining class credit can be used for up to six months from the date of purchase.

We’ll confirm the schedule, number of students and payment arrangement before the first paid session.

Rescheduling semi-private lessons

Semi-private lessons can be rescheduled when the full group agrees to the change and the teacher is available.

  • At least 24 hours’ notice is required to reschedule a class.
  • Up to two sessions may be rescheduled per calendar month without penalty.
  • All students in the semi-private class must agree to the new date and time.
  • When classes are paid monthly, rescheduled sessions must be completed within the same calendar month.
  • Credit from a 10-hour package remains valid for up to six months from the date of purchase.
  • Missed classes and late cancellations are not reimbursed or returned as credit.
  • If only one student misses the class, the session continues for the rest of the group and is not rescheduled separately.

Before you begin

During the free interview, we’ll ask about each student’s previous Spanish experience, what the group wants to improve and the days and times when everyone is normally available.

We’ll recommend a starting level, confirm whether the students can study together and check teacher availability.

Once the schedule is confirmed, each student activates a Membership and makes the corresponding class payment.

You do not need to purchase anything before the interview.

Schedule your free interview

Choose a time for a 30-minute Zoom interview. Ideally, everyone who plans to take the class should attend.

We’ll help you confirm the starting level, answer your questions and discuss a possible semi-private class schedule.

Acuity interview calendar will be added here.
