Learn with a Teacher

You can follow the Toani Program in a group, take private lessons or start a semi-private class with people you already know.

All three options use the same Levels 1–5 program and require an active Toani Membership. Your teacher will assign specific lessons, audio exercises, quizzes and practice activities inside the platform as your class moves forward. We’ll tell you what to do each week as we go.

The main difference is how you practice, how the schedule is arranged and how much flexibility you need.

Group Classes

Group classes are a good option if you enjoy learning with the same classmates every week. You hear other students practice, ask questions and work through the same sentence structures. That shared interaction creates a lot of repetition and gives you more examples of how Spanish can be used.

Classes meet twice a week for one hour. The days and time are fixed in advance, and everyone in the group follows the same schedule. Between classes, your teacher assigns practice inside the Toani Membership so the group can continue working with the same vocabulary and structures.

A level such as Level 1 or Level 3 usually takes about three months in a group because there is a lot of speaking, listening and guided practice along the way.

Private Lessons

Private lessons work well if your schedule is busy, changes frequently or you prefer working directly with one teacher. The pace can be adjusted depending on what you already know, how often you meet and which parts of the program need more attention.

You can ask specific questions during class, spend more time on pronunciation or review a topic before moving forward. Your teacher will still guide you through the same Levels 1–5 program and assign activities inside the Membership between sessions.

A level may take around three months, less time or a little longer. It depends on your schedule, previous experience and how much practice you complete between classes.

Semi-private Lessons

Semi-private lessons are designed for two or three people who already know each other. This can be a couple, friends, family members or roommates who want to follow the program together.

You still get the interaction and shared practice of a small group, but the schedule can be arranged around the people taking the class. Everyone follows the same learning plan and moves through the program together.

Semi-private classes are more flexible than regular group classes. Sessions can be rescheduled when everyone in the class agrees to the change.
