From Cabo to wherever you are
When we first started teaching, every class took place in person. Over time, some of our students returned home, others continued traveling through Mexico, and many wanted to keep learning after leaving Los Cabos. We didn’t want those conversations to end simply because someone moved away.
Instead of creating a separate online course, we gradually adapted the same lessons, activities and learning materials we were already using in our classrooms. Today, whether you’re learning from Los Cabos, another part of Mexico or anywhere else in the world, you’ll be following the same teaching approach that continues to evolve through our in-person and live online classes.
Why is it called Toani?
The name Toani comes from the Náhuatl word Tlatoani, which, among several meanings, can be translated as “the one who speaks.”
Náhuatl is one of Mexico’s most widely spoken Indigenous languages and has influenced many words that are still part of everyday Mexican Spanish.
Our logo is inspired by ancient Náhuatl pictographic writing, where ideas, actions and events were represented through symbols. Since our teaching method is centered on pronunciation and conversation, the name and logo reflect what learning a language is ultimately about: communicating with other people.
